Why we started Watermead Reg 44

We are two highly experienced professionals with over 20 years combined experience across the care sector, specialising in children’s residential care, forensic mental health, secure settings, high-security prison services, youth offender work, and risk management.

 

Alongside this, one of our founders has been speaking out about mental health since 2010 – one of the very first non-celebrity voices in the UK to share honest, personal stories of anxiety and panic attacks online. Early work included the Mindz Matter project, which reached millions of people, documentaries, interviews with BBC Radio Leicester, work with national charity Mind, Everyday Minds, and most recently Never Promised. We also created a practical CBT guide to fear, anxiety and panic attacks – for those experiencing it, and for their loved ones wanting to understand.

 

Our firsthand experience on the ground, dealing with the toughest situations, fueled our passion to create Watermead Reg 44. We understand exactly what Ofsted and Regulation 44 require, and we are committed to helping homes achieve and maintain excellence. All of this has taught us that tomorrow is never promised, and every young person deserves the right support to keep moving forward.
